Jefferson City — This Week in the Missouri Senate reviews the first Senate measure that was signed into law this year. Senate Bill 149 was signed on April 9 and creates state and local sales and use tax exemptions for data storage centers and allows municipalities to enter into loan agreements, or sell, lease or mortgage municipal property for a technology business facility project. The new law will take effect on Aug. 28, 2015. We’ve included actualities from Sen. Mike Parson, R-Bolivar, and Senate Minority Floor Leader Joseph Keaveny, D-St. Louis, in this feature report narrated by Senate Communications Officer Dean Morgan.
