JEFFERSON CITY — Efforts have been underway for several years to rewrite Missouri’s criminal code. Senate Bill 253 is the result of the undertaking, but the measure was not heard on the Missouri Senate floor during the First Regular Session of the 97th General Assembly. Supporters say they plan to have the issue back before lawmakers next year. We’ve included actualities from Senate Minority Floor Leader Jolie Justus, D-Kansas City, and Sen.
