The Missouri Senate Capitol Briefing for the Week of Feb. 18, 2013

  • Senate Bill 75, which would require school districts and charter schools to provide training and education regarding firearms safety and to address potentially dangerous or armed intruders (Audio: Sen. Dan Brown, R-Rolla, and Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal, D-University City);
  • Senate Bill 177, which would move the date of the presidential primary from February to March (Audio: Sen. Eric Schmitt, R-Glendale);

Jefferson City — This Week in the Missouri Senate reviews:

  • Senate Bills 20, 15 and 19, which address benevolent tax credits (Audio: Sen. Bob Dixon, R-Springfield, and Senate Minority Floor Leader Jolie Justus, D-Kansas City);
  • Senate Bill 75, which would require school districts and charter schools to provide education and training about firearm safety and potentially dangerous or armed intruders (Audio: Sen. Dan Brown, R-Rolla, and Sen. Jamilah Nasheed, D-St. Louis);
  • Senate Bill 11, which would create a phased-in individual income tax deduction for business income and reduce the corporate income tax rate over a five-year period (Audio: Sen. Eric Schmitt, R-Glendale);
  • Senate Bill 31, which would increase the tax on cigarettes by 26 cents, modify the state individual income tax rate and increase the state sales and use taxes by one-half percent (Audio: Sen. Paul LeVota, D-Independence); and
